It’s hard out here for a biomed entrepreneur

Arlen Meyers gets real in a talk this week to help life science startups better compete in a marketplace rattled by a lack of capital and a stringent regulatory environment.

Meyers offers up his take on the Colorado biomedical sector at the Nov. 18 Small Business Chamber of Commerce IDEA Cafe. See the Tekhne community calendar for event details.

Meyers has some pretty serious skin in the game too.

He’s a University of Colorado Denver professor, otolaryngology surgeon, MBA graduate, serial life science startup co-founder and President/CEO of the international Society of Physician Entrepreneurs.

Through SoPE, doctors and affiliated folk, like industry reps, device makers and investors, can tap market intelligence, funding sources, educational programs and a community of fellow bio-entrepreneurs.

Even with a growing support network, it’s still a tough racket as Tekhne will explore in an upcoming series on Colorado’s biomed cluster—its unique innovation opportunities and universal startup challenges.
